The Orchestra is open to children aged 4 and upwards and is led by Jack Maguire, a former co-leader of the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra and Musician in Residence at The Arts by The Sea Festival in Bournemouth. The project has has been running since 2004 and is an inspirational and creative opportunity for young people who might otherwise not find the opportunity to learn and play music. It explores a range of genres including traditional, folk, classical and popular music and offers a scholarship scheme to support the most gifted and committed young players to receive individual tuition and support in taking graded exams.Where does it happen?
Every Saturday at St. Clement's Church, Boscombe. In addition, there are a number of both individual and group coaching sessions at both St.Clement’s and Bethany Junior School. Plus there are a number of exciting performance opportunities which take place throughout the year.
Fiddlers (all ages and standards) are all welcome!
Coda Fiddle Orchestra also welcomes volunteers who might help with administration, preparing refreshments, concert and events support and technical help.
